It is best to leave your coins in the original holders, but if you wish to handle them it is best to use cotton gloves as to not scratch your coins.
- It is recommended NOT to clean your coins, especially if you ever intend to have them graded or wish to keep them in mint condition. Occasionally silver coins will ‘tone’ which is the natural process of oxidation on the metal.
- You can use dipping solutions such as EZ Zest ®, and the oxidation will disappear, then rinse with warm water and dab clean with a hand towel. Do not rub the coin as it will cause scratching.
Everyone has different preferences in their collections, but we recommend keeping your coins (especially boxed items) in a humidity free area and away from direct sunlight to prevent fading or mildew on your packaging. For example; attics, garages, or basements are NOT a good storage solution for boxed items.
