This 2018 Tuvalu Planet of the Apes 1 oz. Silver Colorized Proof $1 Coin is available in GEM Proof condition for your collection. This is the first issue in a series that celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the original Planet of the Apes film. The coin was struck by special arrangement for Tuvalu by the artisans at the Perth Mint. These proof finished coins are struck on 1 oz. .9999 pure silver planchets. The production is limited to 5,000 units to satisfy worldwide demand.
Stunning Planet of the Apes Issue!The reverse image on the coin is a colorized depiction of Cornelius, the star of the screen version of Pierre Boulle’s classic Planet of the Apes. He is shown over a highly reflective image of the Ape City. The obverse features the timeless portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as designed by British Artist Ian Rank-Broadley. Colorized Gem Proof BrillianceThis proof quality coin was struck using a specialized process which included polishing the dies and coin blanks.
